Voter Guide
So many friends and family have asked how I am voting, that I have created this voter guide for Orange County and California.
IMPORTANT SUGGESTIONS:
1. DO NOT VOTE EARLY! Be patient! Often pertinent information does not come out until late in campaign.
2. DON'T USE VOTER GUIDES rec'd in mail! Many are "FAKE" GUIDES See Warning!

RESEARCH: Done from a CONSERVATIVE/BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW PERSPECTIVE (fiscal & social), looking for candidates/issues that BEST provide support for:

-LIMITED GOVERNMENT

-LOWER TAXES

-PERSONAL FREEDOM

-PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

-PRO-PARENTAL RIGHTS

-PRO-LIFE

-PRO-FAMILY

-PRO-2ND AMENDMENT

-PRO-BUSINESS

-SECURE BORDERS/CONTROLLED IMMIGRATION

-EDUCATIONAL CHOICE

-PROPERTY RIGHTS

-PRO-ISRAEL

-CANDIDATES that STRONGLY ADHERE to the US CONSTITUTION

-CANDIDATES that are VIABLE (Do they have a chance to win?)

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:
US SENATE FOR CA - DIANNE FEINSTEIN (D) OR, Skip Vote entirely
NOT GOOD CHOICES HERE! Sadly, NO REPUBLICAN candidate qualified for the Top-two General Election ballot, just these 2 DEMS, both dreadful.

85 yr old Democrat DIANE FEINSTEIN is the "BETTER of the 2 AWFULS". As, I watched the JUDGE KAVANAUGH hearings, I lost whatever tiny speck of respect I had for her.

HOWEVER, as if our choices couldn't get worse, FEINSTEIN'S opponent is Democrat KEVIN DELEON, an ULTRA-left, off-the-charts Liberal Democrat. DELEON IS worse and YOUNGER. If he won, he would be around for a lot longer. (He authored the awful CA SANCTUARY STATE LAW.) If FEINSTEIN wins, this surely will be her final term.

BUT, IF YOU CAN'T STOMACH VOTING FOR FEINSTEIN, JUST LEAVE BLANK. I DID.

US REPRESENTATIVE - 38th DIST. RYAN DOWNING (R)
RYAN DOWNING would be a "breath of fresh air" for CA's 38th Dist. He is running an uphill battle to unseat entrenched Liberal Democrat, LINDA SANCHEZ who has represented this Dist since 2003. Downing is Endorsed by CA Republican Party.

Vote RYAN DOWNING for "FRESH CA air" in Congress.
US REPRESENTATIVE - 39th DIST. YOUNG KIM (R)
The 39th is one of the 4 OC Congressional seats the DEMS are targeting, and MUST be RETAINED w/an "R". This is the seat held by retiring Conservative, ED ROYCE.

Comments on KIM to follow.

US REPRESENTATIVE - 45th DIST. MIMI WALTERS (R)
The 45th is another of the 4 OC Congressional seats that the DEMS are targeting, hoping for a Congressional majority takeover. Accordingly, a contentious campaign is expected. Katie Porter, the "D" candidate is endorsed by ultra-liberals, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris.

MIMI WALTERS has been a consistent Conservative vote in the US Congress since advancing to Congress in 2014. Walters has expressed her support for President Trump, saying, "He stands for what we stand for," and voted for virtually all of his preferred policies, including the Repeal and Replace of Obamacare. She is Pro-Life endorsed.

WALTERS MUST RETAIN THIS SEAT! Vote MIMI WALTERS for 45th!

Campaign Website: MimiWalters.com
US REPRESENTATIVE - 46th DIST. RUSSELL LAMBERT (R)
Political newbie, RUSSELL LAMBERT is running an uphill race against entrenched DEM incumbent LOU CORREA. LAMBERT is a businessman, 10 yr ex-marine

I do not know a lot about LAMBERT, but he states that he believes in less government, less taxes, building the wall, secure borders, immigration reform and putting America first. If he was in on my ballot, I would vote for this newbie over Democrat CORREA.
US REPRESENTATIVE - 47th DIST. JOHN BRISCOE (R)
BRISCOE is a businessman, who currently serves as Governing Board Member, Ocean View School District in OC. Known to be a conservative, running an uphill race against entrenched Dem ALAN LOWENTHAL. He is Pro-Life endorsed.
US REPRESENTATIVE - 48th DIST. DANA ROHRABACHER (R)
The 48th is another of the 4 OC Congressional Districts the DEMS have targeted to win a DEMOCRATIC House majority

ROHRABACHER has served well w/a solid conservative voting record for 29 yrs. It is critical this seat be retained REPUBLICAN. Vote ROHRABACHER in 48th!
US REPRESENTATIVE - 49th DIST. DIANE HARKEY (R)
DIANE HARKEY is running for the 49th Congressional District, the seat DARRYL ISSA is vacating. ISSA has endorsed HARKEY for his seat. The district covers both San Diego and OC area and has the endorsement for both the OC and San Diego GOP.

HARKEY is a fiscal and social conservative, and started political life in 2004 on the Dana Point City Council and later as mayor, then served in CA Assembly and currently on the CA Board of Equalization. She is Pro-Life endorsed.

STATE GOVERNMENT:
GOVERNORJOHN COX (R)

CALIFORNIA ⭐ is WORTH FIGHTING FOR! VOTE JOHN COX in NOV 2018!
JOHN COX a good man, a solid CONSERVATIVE! CA desperately NEEDS HIM to WIN!

The alternative (FAR LEFT LIBERAL, GAVIN NEWSOM) would be a DISASTER and continue CA downward spiral, w/ a SANCTUARY STATE, OPEN BORDERS, and boondoggle, HIGH-SPEED TRAIN to nowhere, and all the other Liberal issues pushed by the ULTRA-LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC TRIFECTA! Wake up CA VOTERS!

COX is a small-government Conservative businessman, a CPA, and an attorney, and NOT A POLITICIAN. He is both a fiscal and social conservative, supports 2nd Amendment Gun rights and strongly opposes Jerry Brown's Sanctuary State and the "MONEY PIT", the High Speed "Train to Nowhere".

Cox gave $2 million in his personal funds PROP 6, REPEAL of the GAS and VEHICLE TAX Initiative on this ballot.

While Cox admits that in 2016 he didn't vote for TRUMP (but for Libertarian Gary Johnson), he says he's encouraged by Trump's conservative policies, and has garnered TRUMP'S endorsement, in spite of this acknowledgement.

JOHN COX is endorsed by:
-PRES TRUMP
-NEWT GINGRICH
-CONDELESSA RICE
-HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYER'S ASSOC
-CRAIG HUEY of Election Forum
-MICHAEL REAGAN Son of Pres REAGAN, and Conservative Talk Show Host
-KEVIN McCarthy, the CA US House Majority Leader
-CA Pro-Life Council and is on the OC PRO-FAMILY Candidates List
-DEVIN NUNEZ-CA Congressman
-DARRYL ISSA-CA Congressman
-NRA endorsed
-MIMI WALTERS-CA (OC) Congresswoman
-TONY KRVARIC, Chairman Republican Party of San Diego

Vote COX!

JohnCoxForGovernor.com
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR - NO RECOMMENDATION! (See below comments)
NOT GOOD CHOICES HERE! Unfortunately, only 2 Democrats advanced to this general election, ED HERNANDEZ and ELENI KOUNALAKIS.

DO NOT VOTE FOR ELENI KOUNALAKIS - She is a SOCIALIST!

ED HERNANDEZ appears more moderate, and may cause the LEAST HARM.
SECRETARY OF STATE-MARK MEUSER (R)
WHAT DOES THE CA SECRETARY OF STATE DO? Is Head of Elections/Election Laws and keeps records of new Corporations & Businesses.

There IS voter fraud in CA! Safeguarding FAIR ELECTIONS is one of the duties of the Secretary of State (SOS), that is, to make sure that ONLY valid registered voters citizens can VOTE. The current SOS, Democrat ALEX PADILLA who is running for re-election has done NOTHING on this issue.

MARK MEUSER is a fiscal CONSERVATIVE, understands the position well, and has identified what to do about Voter Fraud. He has run an energetic campaign to win the primary. VOTE MARK MEUSER in NOV! I do not know where he stands on social issue, like pro-life, however.

Campaign Website MarkMeuser.com
CONTROLLER-KOSTAS RODITIS (R)
WHAT DOES THE CA CONTROLLER DO! The controller is CA's Bookkeeper, keeps track of how the State's money is spent. Reports on finances of State and Local governments.

KOSTAS RODITIS would do a great job as Controller. He is a successful Conservative OC Businessman, who believes in "staunchly limiting government", and says that "over-bearing government regulations" is stifling business growth in CA. He calls the High Speed a "money pit" and believes it should be de-funded.

He is endorsed by many of my FAVORITE REPUBLICANS:
-JOHN MOORLACH, CA State Senator (the GOLD Standard, in my opinion)
-CRAIG HUEY of ELECTION FORUM Voter Guide (highest 5 Star rating)
-MATT HARPER Conservative 74th Assemblyman
-CA REPUBLICAN PARTY
-FRED WHITAKER OC Republican Chairman
-CA ProLife PAC (RODITIS is solidly PRO-LIFE)
-DEBORAH PAULY - CAGOP 68th AD Delegate (Another "GOLD STANDARD")
-AMERICAN INDEPENDENT PARTY-the Conservative, but non-viable party
-PLUS many CA County REPUBLICAN PARTIES

Tell all you know to vote for KOSTAS RODITIS!
TREASURER-GREG CONLON (R)
WHAT DOES CA'S TREASURER DO? CA's Banker, manages CA's investments & assets. Coordinates the sale of state bonds.

GREG CONLON is a strong fiscal Conservative w/good qualifications to serve as Controller. He is an attorney, CPA, retired military, with decades of service in both private and public sectors. CA Republican Party and American Independent Party endorsed.
ATTORNEY GENERAL-JUDGE STEVEN BAILEY (R)
JUDGE STEVEN BAILEY is an EXCELLENT, well-qualified, Constitutional Conservative. He is a former Superior Court judge in El Dorado County, w/ a wide, diverse background in CA LAW. His views check all the boxes for Family Values issues. He is Pro-Life endorsed.

BAILEY is attempting to oust the current APPOINTED and FAR-LEFT-LEANING Attorney General, XAVIER BECERRA. He is terrible!

BAILEY is endorsed by tons of the Conservatives, including the CA Republican Assembly, the NRA, CA GOP, my favorite conservatives, Senator JOHN MOORLACH, Congressman TOM McCLINTOCK, and local Assemblyman MATT HARPER to name just a few.

JUDGE BAILEY is also recommended by Conservative Ballot Researcher, CRAIG HUEY, giving BAILEY his highest 5 STAR RECOMMENDATION.

Tell all you know to VOTE for JUDGE STEVEN BAILEY!

Campaign Website BaileyforAG.com
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER-STEVE POIZNER (NPP=No Party Preference)
WHAT DOES THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER DO? This office was only created in 1988, when voters approved PROP 103. The job is to oversee CA's Insurance Companies and enforce laws that apply to them.

STEVE POIZNER served previously in this office from 2007 to 2011 under Gov ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER and was known to have led it well. At that time, he was a declared REPUBLICAN. as he was when he unsuccessfully ran for Governor in 2010, getting defeated by MEG WHITMAN in the primary.

POIZNER, in 2007, was successful in defeating Proposition 93, a Term Limit Removal initiative, using a big chunk of his personal funds.

In this race, however, POIZNER has declared himself "No Party Preference" and is definitely the BEST on the Ballot. He is endorsed by the conservative American Independent Party.
STATE BOARD of EQUALIZATION - 4TH DistJOEL ANDERSON (R)
Coming from the 38th Assembly District, JOEL ANDERSON has been a consistent Conservative in all votes, w/ the Conservative CA Republican Assembly tracking giving a 99%. He is CA GOP and American Independent Party endorsed, and Pro-Life endorsed.

STATE SENATOR - 32nd Dist RITA TOPALIAN (R)
RITA TOPALIAN is an attorney running for this Senate District, which is only a small portion in Orange county, but mainly in LA CO (Whittier, Hacienda Heights, Norwalk, Downey, etc).

She is a fiscal conservative, who strongly believes in the REPEAL of the GAS TAX (PROP 6), keeping property taxes low by defending PROP 13, and staunchly opposes the High-Speed BULLET TRAIN. I don't know her positions of social issues, including Pro-Life.

TOPALIAN is endorsed by the OC and LA Republican Parties, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, Lincoln Club and OC TAX PAC, and a many Conservative officeholders in LA and Orange Counties.

It would be great for CA if an "R" represented this 32nd District. Praying!
STATE SENATOR - 34th Dist JANET NGUYEN (R)
Incumbent JANET NGUYEN is not as Conservative as I would like. At 85%, her Conservative vote tracking is okay. But she is definitely more conservative than her Liberal Democratic opponent.

Campaign Website: Janet2018.com
STATE SENATOR - 36th Dist PAT BATES (R)
Consistent Conservative in all areas, w/a very good voting record of 94%, according to the tracking by the Conservative CA Republican Assembly (CRA).

Campaign Website: BatesForSenate.com
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 55 PHILLIP CHEN (R)
Running for his 2nd term, PHILLIP CHEN has been a consistent Conservative in all areas, w/an very good voting record of 93%, according to the tracking by the Conservative CA Republican Assembly (CRA). He is Pro-Life PAC endorsed.

Campaign Website: PhillipChen.org
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 65 DR. ALEXANDRIA CORONADO (R)
SOLID CONSERVATIVE (fiscal and social) smart, and well qualified to serve in the Assembly. CORONADO is Pro-Life endorsed.

This also, is a MUST-WIN seat to oust (D) SHARON QUIRK-SILVA so that the DEMS will lose their 2/3 SUPER MAJORITY they currently enjoy, allowing them full control of CA w/o needing a single Republican vote.

Endorsed by (my favorite conservative!) CA Sentor JOHN MOORLACH, Congressman DANA ROHRABACHER, Assemblyman MATT HARPER, OC Republican Party, HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYER ASSOCIATION, CA Republican Assembly, Lincoln Club, and tons more.

Campaign Website: CoronadoForAssembly.com
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 68 STEVEN CHOI (R)
STEVEN CHOI'S voting record, while not stellar, has been okay at 87% per the conservative vote tracker. He is Pro-Life endorsed.

Campaign Website: StevenChoi.org
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 69 AUTUMN BROWNE (Libertarian)
NO CONSERVATIVE or even REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE running for this office. Democrat incumbent TOM DALY's CA Republican Assembly's Vote Track Record is in the toilet at ZERO (0%) percent.

Of the 2 candidates on the ballot, LIBERTARIAN, AUTUMN BROWNE, would be a better alternative vote, over DALY. She is endorsed by the conservative American Independent Party and the Libertarian Party. She is not Pro-Life or strong on other social issues, as per most all Libertarians. Autumn Brown's Political Philosophy
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 72 TYLER DIEP (R)
TYLER DIEP - A strong Fiscal Conservative, coming from Westminster City Council, who we need in the Assembly. (Unable to determine stance on social issues) A staunch opponent of tax increase, he is endorsed by the HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYERS ASSOC.

It is very important for Republicans to RETAIN this DIST 72 seat (replacing R- TRAVIS ALLEN). Republicans MUST win this, AND pick up one more Assembly seat for Democrats to lose their current 2/3 SUPER-MAJORITY in the Assembly.

In the Senate, margins are equally razor thin. With former Senator (D) JOSH NEWMAN, being recalled last June, the Democrats lost their Senate SUPER-MAJORITY, when he was replaced by (R) LING LING CHANG.

TYLER DIEP is endorsed by virtually every Republican/conservative in OC, including CA GOP and the conservative American Independent Party.

Campaign Website:  TylerDiep.com
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 73 BILL BROUGH (R)
Assemblyman BROUGH has been in this office since 2014. His vote record has been CONSISTENTLY CONSERVATIVE on both fiscal and social votes, and deserves to be re-elected. BROUGH'S Conservative CRA vote tracking is EXCELLENT at 99%. He is Pro-Life endorsed.

Campaign Website: BillBrough.org
STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 74 MATT HARPER (R)
MATT HARPER is a solid Conservative, socially and fiscally, backed up by a stellar voting record (Conservative CA Repub Assempbly) of 99%. He is Pro-Life endorsed.

COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
OC SUPERVISOR - 4th Dist TIM SHAW
Though non-partisan race, TIM SHAW is known to be a Conservative Republican, having served on the City Council of LaHabra for 10 yrs, and currently as mayor.

His endorsements include:
-Conservative CA Republican Assembly
-Republican Party Of Orange County
-Tons of the Mayors and City Council members in this 4th District
-3 of the 5 Current Supervisors
-And many other Conservatives, including my favorite, State Senator JOHN MOORLACH.

Campaign Website: TimShaw4OC.com
DISTRICT ATTORNEY-PUBLIC ADMINISTRATORTONY RACKAUCKAS
TONY RACKAUCAS is a conservative Republican who has been in this office since 1999. Except for some criticism regarding the mishandling of jailhouse informants a couple of yrs ago, his 18 yrs in office has been w/o critical incident.

In this election, running for his 6th term for DA, RACKAUCKAS is being challenged by OC Supervisor TODD SPITZER. I like SPITZER as a conservative candidate and have recommended him in his previous runs for the CA Assembly and OC Supervior.

However, I believe that TONY RACKAUCKAS has run the DA's office well and has done nothing to be ousted. Also, his calm demeanor is better suited for this office than the more controversial-driven, TODD SPITZER.

That being said, I could understand your disagreeing w/this recommendation, saying 20 yrs is enough.

For me, I'm voting for RACKAUCKAS for one more term, and recommend you do, too!
SHERIFF-CORONER - DON BARNES
DON BARNES had to win the primary by more than 50% to avoid a Run-off. He won by 49.4%, so is running against DUKE NGUYEN, who came in 2nd at 31.1%.

BARNES is already on the job, 2nd in command now, behind SHERIFF SANDRA HUTCHENS, who is retiring. BARNES is well versed in the Administration of the job, and educationally.

My choice is DON BARNES for OC SHERIFF!

FOR CITY GOVERNMENT, SCROLL DOWN TO FIND YOUR CITY in ALPHABETICAL ORDER. HOWEVER, COSTA MESA is OUT OF ORDER at end, AFTER "YORBA LINDA"
CITY GOVERNMENT:
ALISO VIEJO (2 Seats) DAVID HARRINGTON and GARRETT DWYER
DAVID HARRINGTON-I feel very comfortable in recommending HARRINGTON as I vetted him previously in 2014 for AVCC and more recently in his bid for OC Sheriff. He is a solid conservative, fiscally and socially, and should be re-elected.

GARRETT DWYER is an Navy Vet and Conservative Christian, and new to politics. He is endorsed by Conservative Councilman, Mike Munzing, and has the endorsement of the OC Republicans (OC GOP).
ANAHEIM MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL (See below)
MAYOR - CYNTHIA WARD - The more I research CYNTHIA WARD, the more I like her! She is refreshingly open, honest, articulate, and an unabashed Christian fiscal/social Conservative w/ an equal enthusiasm for a Pro-Life position. She communicates well her energy and love for Anaheim and her strong desire to serve for the right reasons. Her immigration stance is a tad more generous than I would prefer, but still okay.

No, she does not have all the rank and file Republican endorsements, as she is running against an "entrenched" Republican, HARRY SIDHU. But, I believe she is a Republican that can attract admiration across party lines, and DOES have a bunch of stellar Conservative Endorsements which include:

-CA Republican Assembly - Conservative arm of the Republican Party
-BRUCE WHITAKER - Fullerton City Council
-GREG SEBORN - Fullerton City Council,
-TIM WHITAKER - OC GOP Central Committee
-JOHN LEWIS - Former State Senator
-BILL NELSON - Villa Park City Council

BREA CITY COUNCIL - STEVE VARAS, CECELIA HUPP, and STEVE SHATYNSKI
1. STEVE VARGAS - Fiscal conservative incumbent that has reportedly done a good job. Endorsed by conservative CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH. I don't know Pro-Life position, however.

2. CECILA HUPP - OC GOP endorsed.

3. STEVE SHATYNSKI - OC GOP endorsed
BUENA PARK CITY COUNCIL(See below)
DIST 1 - VIRGINIA VAUGHN - Republican incumbent, endorsed by CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH and the Lincoln Club. I don't know position on social issues, ie
whether Pro-Life, however.

DIST 2 - ELIZABETH SWIFT - Republican incumbent, endorsed by favorite conservative, Senator JOHN MOORLACH. Don't know Swift's Pro-Life position.

DIST 5 - ADONAY GUTIERREZ - A young newbie Hispanic Republican who, I think would fit nicely on BPark's CC. He is a solid Conservative, fiscally and socially. He is endorsed by incumbent candidates, Buenda Park Councilmembers, VIRGINIA VAUGHN and ELIZABETH SWIFT, Dr ALEXANDRIA CORONADO (State Assembly candidate), Pastor Don Harbert of The Way Fellowship, and Rev Lou Sheldon (the officiant at our daughter's wedding). He's Pro-Life.

NOTE: COSTA MESA MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL Recommendations are OUT OF ALPHABETICAL Order. See after YORBA LINDA CITY COUNCIL (end of City Gov)
CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL - STACY BERRY, JON PEAT and PAULO MORALES
Comments:
STACEY BERRY - Incumbent Conservative Republican, on the recommended OC Pro-Family List, endorsed by CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH. Rec'd OC Taxpayer Watchdog Award in February 2018

JOHN PEAT - Incumbent Conservative Republican

PAULO MORALES - Incumbent Conservative American Independent (a great Conservative party, that is unfortunately NOT a viable party).

DIST 1 - JOE MULLER - Conservative Republican Incumbent serving since 2014, currently as Mayor Pro-Tem, who is reportedly doing a good job. Endorsed by OC GOP and CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH.

DIST 2 - RICHARD VICZOREK - Current Conservative Dana Point Mayor, first elected in 2014. Research shows he is doing a good job. Former Marine Corps attorney, still serving in reserves as Lt. Colonel. Endorsed by OC GOP.

DIST 3 - JAMIE FREDRICO - My research show FREDRICO to be the best of candidates for this district, but not Pro-Life. Recently retired in Nov 2017 from Marine Corp as a Lt Colonel. Endorsed by OC GOP and CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY CITY COUNCIL - PATRICK HARPER, KIM CONSTANTINE, and PATRICK TUCKER
Eight candidates running for 3 Fountain Valley City Council seats.

1. PATRICK HARPER - FV Planning Commissioner, endorsed by OC GOP, JIM CUNEEN, Pres of FV School Dist Board, conservative Assemblyman MATT HARPER, FV Councilmembers, STEVE NAGEL and LARRY CRANDALL and MICHELLE STEEL, OC Supervisor.

2. KIM CONSTANTINE - Conservative business woman, supporting fiscal and social issues. Refuses all Union support. Is Pro-Life (w/o exception), and on the OC Family Candidates List.

3. PATRICK TUCKER - Appears to be the best 3rd conservative candidate. On OC Pro Family Candidates list. Is Pro-Life (w/exceptions)

FULLERTON CITY COUNCIL (See below)
DIST 3 - GREG SEBOURN is a Republican Incumbent w/ a proven fiscal and social conservative record, and deserves to be re-elected. He is a strong advocate for limited government. Pro-Life (w/o exception) and on OC Pro-Family Candidates list.

DIST 5 - JOHN YBARRA - Not strong recommendation, but better of others. Endorsed by Shawn Nelson and Chris Norby.

Per ROBYN NORDELL, all others are liberal Democrats. Especially, do NOT vote for AHMAD ZAHRA. He is "endorsed by Planned Parenthood, the OC Democratic Party, Equality CA, the nation’s largest LGBTQ political action organization, and a
number of very liberal and far-left individuals. [Also] Liberal Democrat Paulette Chaffee has withdrawn from the Fullerton race."
GARDEN GROVE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL (See below)
MAYOR - STEVE JONES - Republican incumbent, endorsed by CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH

CITY COUNCIL
DIST 1- ADAM DEGNER

DIST 3 - NO RECOMMENDATION

DIST 4 - PHAT BUI - Republican incumbent - better of 2 candidates running.
HUNTINGTON BEACH CITY COUNCIL (4 seats) and CITY ATTORNEY(See Below)
CITY ATTORNEY - MICHAEL GATES - Conservative Incumbent whose positive reputation goes beyond Huntington Beach. He is endorsed by many known conservatives, including Assemblyman MATT HARPER.

CITY COUNCIL
1. RON STERUD is a solid conservative (fiscal & social) w/a finance background that will be helpful in City leadership. Endorsed by OC GOP, the conservative CA Republican Assembly, and many other known conservatives, including Assemblyman MATT HARPER. Pro-Life (w/o exception) and on OC Pro-Family Candidates list.

2. ERIK PETERSON - Conservative Incumbent that deserves to be re-elected. Endorsed by OC GOP. Pro-Life (w/o exception) and on OC Pro-Family Candidates list.

3. MIKE POSEY -Endorsed by OC GOP, Lincoln Club. Pro-Life (w/o exception) and on OC Pro-Family Candidates list.

IRVINE MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL (See below)

CITY COUNCIL (2 seats):

1. ANTHONY KUO-Endorsed by OC GOP, and these Conservatives: Senators JOHN MOORLACH and PAT BATES, Irvine Mayor DON WAGNER, Assemblyman MATT HARPER, and many more Republican conservatives. Is on the Pro-Family Candidates List. Pro-Life w/o exception.

2. CARRIE O'MALLEY - Conservative Republican endorsed by OC GOP, CA Senators JOHN MOORLACH and PAT BATES, OC Taxpayer Assoc PAC, Assemblyman MATT HARPER, and Mayor DON WAGNER. I do not know stance on social issues.
LA HABRA CITY COUNCILJAMES GOMEZ (2 seats -No recommendation for 2nd seat)
JAMES GOMEZ - Republican incumbent, endorsed by conservative CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH.
LA PALMA CITY COUNCIL - MICHELE STEGGELL and GARRETT WADA
Minimal information available on 3 candidates for City Council. All 3 of them are Republicans, but have not, apparently sought endorsements from political organizations. Based on my research, theses are the 2 that I would vote for, if this was my city. I do not where they stand on Pro-Life issue.

MICHELE STEGGELL - Republican incumbent, she served in 2017 as Mayor, and endorsed by OC Supervisor MICHELLE STEELE and OC DA TONY RACKAUCKAS . Helped to get "IN GOD WE TRUST" sign in Council chamber.

GARRETT WADA - Republican optometrist who came close to winning a CC seat on previous run. Is active in community, serving for 6 yrs on the city's Oversight Board, helping youth in community thru long time involvement in Optimist Club, and is a member of Cerritos Baptist Church.
LAGUNA BEACH CITY COUNCIL - PETER BLAKE (Vote for BLAKE ONLY, even though 3 seats)
NOTE: Only Democrats and Declined-to-State (DTS) candidates are running for CC in Laguna Beach, 10 of them. ZERO Republicans! They range is political viewpoints from liberal to socialists.

PETER BLAKE, however, is a "DTS", that has been identified as a fiscal Conservative, thru a questionnaire and interview. He "fully supports" Pres Trump and the policies he has or hopes to implement. With the recommendation of a trusted Laguna Beach advisor, I feel comfortable recommending PETER BLAKE for CC, as a FISCAL conservative. He is not pro-life, however.

In order to give PETER BLAKE the best chance of winning, I am suggesting to Vote ONLY for PETER BLAKE ("Bullet-Voting"), NO ONE ELSE, which will enhance his chance of winning, especially in this large field of candidates.

LAGUNA HILLS CITY COUNCIL (3 seats) ERICA PEZOLD, DAVID WHEELER, and DON SEDGWICK (1 more MAY be added)

LAGUNA NIGUEL CITY COUNCIL (See below - 2 Seats for Full Term, 1 Seat for Short Term)
FULL TERM (2 seats):

1. FRED MINAGAR-Well respected Conservative Incumbent. Endorsed by many known conservative endorsements, like Senator PAT BATES, Congressmen DANA ROHRABACHER, MIMI WALTERS, and ED ROYCE, and conservative Saddleback Republican Assembly (SRA unit). He is an enthusiastic candidate w/identical views as mine. He is running unopposed, so thankfully, MINEGAR will be RE-ELECTED.

2. ELAINE GENNAWEY, Incumbent and currently LN Mayor, known to have served well, and lots of Conservative endorsements, including a favorite, former LN City Councilman, ROBERT MING. Running unopposed

SHORT TERM (1 seat) - SANDY RAINS, a businesswoman new to politics, w/good endorsements, including one of my favorites, former LN City Councilman, ROBERT MING.
LAGUNA WOODS CITY COUNCIL (2 seats) - JUDITH TROUTMAN and JOE RAINEY
JUDITH TROUTMAN - Is a Republican that appears to be fiscal conservative. Endorsed by conservative CA Republican Assembly, SRA unit. However, while she says she is Pro-life at one end of life, she supports assisted-suicide on the other. So, not solidly Prop Life

JOE RAINEY - Republican incumbent appointed to serve in 2017 due to being an active Laguna Woods citizen. Fiscal conservative. Retired military.

LAKE FOREST CITY COUNCIL (See Below)
DIST 2 - NEEKI MOATAZEDI- New to elective office, she is a fiscal and social Conservative. Her Day Job is a Project Mgr for So Ca Gas where she manages multi-million $$ projects. Endorsed by conservative CA Republican Assembly (SRA unit), OC GOP, and is on the Pro-Family Candidates List. Is Pro-Life (w/o exception).

DIST 3 - SCOTT VOIGTS - Solid Conservative incumbent, fiscal and social, who deserves to be re-elected. Voights is endorsed by the OC GOP, the conservative CA Republican Assembly (SRA unit), the Conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC, is on the Pro-Family Candididates List. Is Pro-Life Christian (w/o exceptions).

DIST 4 - MARK TETTEMER - Conservative Republican Candidate. TETTEMER previously served on CC from 2004-2012. Some endorsements: OC GOP, LF City Councilman SCOTT VOIGHTS, CA Sen PAT BATES, Supervisor LISA BARTLETT, and the LINCOLN CLUB. (Unknown on Pro-Life position, researching).

DO NOT VOTE JIM GARDNER! He is a "Republican-in-name only" (RINO) and very anti-Christian, having authored an atheistic book ridiculing Christianity. Click here: Another reason NOT to vote GARDNER, Click here: Garner Found Guilty
LOS ALAMITOS CITY COUNCIL - DEAN GROSE, SHELLEY HASSELBRINK and WARREN KUSUMOTO (see below for 4th one!)
1. DEAN GROSE - GROSE is a former City Councilman. He is running again. A consistent fiscal and social conservative. Is Pro-Life.

2. SHELLEY HASSELBRINK - An appointed incumbent w/fiscal and social values consistent w/Conservative Values, deserving to be re-elected. Is Pro-Life.

3. WARREN KUSUMOTO - Republican incumbent mayor - wrote initiative to opt-out of "sanctuary law" (Senate Bill 54), which prompted other cities to do the same.

4. NO RECOMMENDATION, just information: Do NOT vote for (D)GISELE FINCH, who is liberal. Also, I heard that "Declined-to-State" candidate, TANYA DOBY political philosophy tends to be more conservative than liberal. But scarce info available to back that up.
MISSION VIEJO CITY COUNCIL - ED SACHS, GREG RATH, and WENDY BUCKNUM
This is my city. The above 3 are the current incumbents, who have done a good job in leading our city. They all are running for 2 yrs terms this time, so as to accommodate "*CUMULATIVE VOTING" in 2020 election.

ED SACHS - Is a fiscal and social conservative, with a confirming vote record to support. Endorsed by OC GOP, OC TAX PAC, LINCOLN CLUB, on OC PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES List. Pro-Life w/o exception. *

GREG RATHS - A consistent conservative, fiscally and socially, military-retired incumbent. He deserves to be re-elected. He is solidly pro-life and on the PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES List.

UPDATE of 10-27-18: I was very disappointed to see that at last week's city council meeting, Councilman Rath had as an agenda item, to increase the STIPEND (salaries) for city council members a whopping 62%, from the current $1,000/mo to $1,625/mo. At the meeting, the item was "tabled" (and I hope BURIED!), until after the first of year 2019. For Councilman Rath, that is NOT the vote of a fiscal conservative, ie, to be increasing their OWN PAY by 62%. Commendable for Councilwoman WENDY BUCKNUM, she stated that she was "blindsided" by the item, and WOULD NOT SUPPORT IT. Similarly, Councilman, ED SACHS, said that he would NOT support it. I do not yet know where the 2 other council members, Councilman BRIAN GOODELL or Councilwoman, TRISH KELLEY stand on the issue. IF, in 2019, a STIPEND FOR CC MEMBERS gets APPROVED, it will be a RE-ELECTION ITEM, for sure. FYI, at current $1,000/mo, MV already has the highest stipend for city councilpersons of all our surrounding cities.

While I strongly DISAGREE w/Councilman RATH on this stipend raise item, I am still recommending him, at this time for re-election, with the hope that he will come to his senses, and not bring this up again.

WENDY BUCKNUM - WENDY BUCKNUM'S record, as an incumbent conservative, fiscal and social, qualify her to be re-elected. Her endorsement include Congresswoman MIMI WALTERS, CA Senator PAT BATES, our Assemblyman BILL BROUGH, and many more. She is on the PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES LIST and Pro-Life, w/o exception.

CURRENT CITY COUNCIL: Though the current City Council says they had "NO CHOICE", I am disappointed the Council allowed MV to go to *CUMULATIVE VOTING (the FIRST CITY in CA!) starting in 2020. I hope that type of voting can be stopped for various reasons before then. "CUMULATIVE VOTING" is worse than "DISTRICT VOTING", in my opinion. All the WINNERS of THIS election will only have 2 year terms, so that all candidates will up for re-election in 2020.

*A vote plan used for the election of the Mission Viejo city council starting in 2020, where every voter will be given 5 votes (for city council) that may cast all for one candidate or allocated them among up to 5 candidates.
NEWPORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL (See below)
DIST 1 - MIKE GLENN - Libertarian conservative that would serve well on council w/others. Second option: Incumbent Diane Dixon.

DIST 3 - MARSHALL "DUFFY" DUFFIELD - Conservative incumbent, OC GOP endorsed, and is on the OC PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES LIST. Pro-Life, w/o exception.

DIST 4 - KEVIN MULDOON - Solid Conservative incumbent, endorsed by OC GOP endorsed and pro-business LINCOLN CLUB, and is on the OC PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES LIST. Pro-Life, w/o exception.

DIST 4 - CHAD WANKE - Incumbent fiscal and social Conservative Republican, supporting life from conception to natural death.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA CITY COUNCILBRAD MCGIRR, ANNE FIGUEROA and SHAWN GORDON
1. BRAD MCGIRR - My research show incumbent MCGIRR to be a solid Conservative, fiscally and socially that deserves to be re-elected. Pro-Life w/o exceptions.

2. ANNE FIGUEROA - FIGUEROA is new to elective office, but is familiar w/RSM government after serving 3 yrs as an RSM City Planning Commissioner. She is a fiscal and social Conservative, and Pro-Life (ex life of mother). Her "day job" is working for solid Conservative and Candidate Bill Brough, who has endorsed FIGUEROA. She is a Catholic woman of faith and has garnered endorsements from OC GOP, Senator Pat Bates, Congresswoman Mimi Walters, and is on the OC Pro-Life Council Candidates List, to name a few. Plus, she is endorsed by entire City Council Members.

3. SHAWN GORDON - My research show SHAWN GORDON to be a Republican fiscal and social Conservative, supporting all the values that I state in my introduction, including Family issues, and is Pro-Life. He is a person of faith, too.
SAN CLEMENTE CITY COUNCIL - LAURA FERGUSON, DAN BANE, and GENE JAMES
LAURA FERGUSON - A fiscal Conservative, but not Pro-Life. Best of those available. Endorsed by OC GOP.

DAN BANE - Endorsed by OC GOP. Do not know of Pro-Life position.

GENE JAMES - My research show JAMES to be a fiscal and social Conservative. OC GOP endorsed and CA Republican Assembly endorsed. Is Pro-Life. On the OC Pro-Family Candidates List.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CITY COUNCIL (See Below)
DIST 2 - KIMBERLY MCCARTHY - Decided to run to give a conservative option to Declined-to-State candidate, Troy Bourne, whose developmental desire for SJC was opposed to most SJC voters, she says. Fiscally and socially conservative. Pro-Life, but with exceptions.

DIST 3- PAM PATTERSON - Incumbent, constitutional attorney and solid fiscal and social Conservative. She strongly supports Pres Trump and his conservative issues. Is solidly Pro-Life.

DIST 4 - NO RECOMMENDATION - JUST INFORMATION!

2 Candidates running for DIST 4:
-JEFF VASQUEZ - Republican who previously served on SJC council.
-JOHN TAYLOR - Declined-to-State, who also previously served on SJC council.

If this were my city, I would probably vote for Republican JEFF VASQUEZ, over JOHN TAYLOR. TAYLOR served more recently on CC, helping to get SJC into city's current financial crisis.
SANTA ANA MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL (See Below)
MAYOR - NO RECOMMENDATION

WARD 2 - MIGUEL GONZALES - Republican candidate. Not strong recommendation.
WARD 4 - NO RECOMMENDATION

WARD 6 - CECILIA IGLESIAS - Conservative Republican incumbent. On the Pro-Family Candidates List. Is Pro-Life (w/exceptions)

DIST 1 - PETER AMUNDSON - Republican, endorsed by business-friendly LINCOLN CLUB, and on the Pro-Family/Pro-Life Candidates List.

DIST 3 - MIKE VARIPAPA - Republican incumbent running unopposed.

DIST 5 - NO RECOMMENDATION - Democrat running unopposed.
STANTON MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL(See below)
MAYOR - DAVID SHAWVER - Incumbent mayor who my research has shown has done a good job. He is endorsed by a ton of Conservatives, including some of my favorites, like Senator JOHN MOORLACH, Assemblymembers, BILL BROUGH and MATT HARPER and is on the OC Pro-Family Candidates list. Pro-Life w/o exception.

CITY COUNCIL, DIST 1 - RIGOBERTO A. RAMIREZ - Republican Incumbent is running unopposed.

CITY COUNCIL, DIST 3 - LOREEN BERLIN - Republican. Photo Journalist new to elective office. Minimal information to research. However, she answered a FAITH and FREEDOM questionnaire showing her to have answered CONSERVATIVELY on both fiscal and social issues, including "protecting life from conception until natural death". W/that, I am addind BERLIN to my recommendations.
TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL - AUSTIN LUMBARD (ONLY Recommendation)
AUSTIN LUMBARD (R) - Though 2 seats open, I recommend voting for ONLY LUMBARD to assure he wins (this called "bullet-voting"). He is a solid Conservative on fiscal and social issues. Endorsed by OC GOP, LINCOLN CLUB, and on OC PRO-FAMILY CANDIDATES LIST. He is Pro-life (but w/exceptions).

NOTE ONLY (I am NOT recommending these): Both the other candidates are liberal.
1. A 2nd candidate on ballot is BARRY COOPER. His Party? "Declined-to-State". He has done a lot of community coaching and volunteering, but minimal information to know his political philosophy. However, he as aligned himself to the liberal candidate below in campaigning, etc.

If you feel COMPELLED to vote a 2nd candidate, COOPER would probably be better than Democrat LOVELAND below.

2. DO NOT VOTE for 3rd Candidate, SHERRI LOVELAND!
She is a last minute "Official" write-In" Candidate, a Democrat. She has the liberal endorsements of: Abortion providers, PLANNED PARENTHOOD, the DEMOCRATIC FOUNDATION of OC, liberal Democrat, FORMER Senator JOSH NEWMAN (who was RECALLED last June 2018, largely for his SUPPORT for the GAS TAX INCREASE and CA SANCTUARY STATE status). Also endorsing LOVELAND is liberal OC Assemblywoman, SHARON QUIRK-SILVA, Unite Here Local 11 Labor Union, and many other known liberal Democrats. NO BUENO!

VILLA PARK CITY COUNCIL (3 seats) ROBERT COLLACOTT and DIANA FASCENELLI
1. ROBERT COLLACOTT - Republican CALLACOTT is known to be a conservative. Endorsed by DEBORAH PAULY.

WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL MAYOR and CITY COUNCIL (See Below)
MAYOR - TRI TA - Incumbent Conservative Mayor, TRI-TA, has done a good good job and deserves to be re-elected

CITY COUNCIL (2 seats)

CARLOS RODRIQUEZ - Republican endorsed by the OC GOP and US Congressman Ed Royce. He states, "My Christian values drive my ethics."
COSTA MESA CITY COUNCIL (See Below)
MAYOR:

SANDRA GENIS - Is City Council Republican incumbent, currently serving as mayor. This is the first election where the mayor is elected instead of selected by the City Council. GENIS is not as conservative as I would like on the social side. HOWEVER, with only 2 candidates from which to choose, she is by far the best of the two. Endorsed by conservative CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH (and CM resident).

KATRINA FOLEY, the alternative is a far-left, "progressive" Democrat, who finds no objection to CA being declared a "Sanctuary State". Please do NOT vote for FOLEY to lead your city.

CITY COUNCIL:

Dist 3: BRETT ECKLES - Is a solid conservative Republican, and by far the best of the 2 candidates for this district. Former chairman of the CM Parks and Recreation for many years has given him a good city background to serve on City Council. Endorsed by CM resident, conservative CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH, Lincoln Club, OC Republican Party, and the conservative member of the current city council. Is Pro-Life.

Dist 4: MICHELLE FIGUEREDO-WILSON- While not a strong endorsement, of the 3 candidates, FIGUEREDO-WILSON appears to be the best. She is a a Repulican.

Please DO NOT vote for Liberal "Progressive" Democrat, MANUEL CHAVEZ. He is endorsed by many liberal groups, including Planned Parenthood, OC Democratic Party, and US Senate candidate, Dem/Progressive CA Senator KEVIN DELEON.

Dist 5: Alan Mansoor - A solid conservative, fiscally and socially, that deserves to be re-elected. Endorsed by many Conservatives, including my favorite CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH (who lives in CM), Assemblyman MATT HARPER, conservative CM City Councilmembers, STEVE MENSINGER, JIM RIGHEIMER, and GARY MONAHAN, OC GOP, and is on the Prop-Family Candidates List. Is Pro-Life.
Is Pro-Life.
SCHOOLS:
STATE SUPERINTENDENT of PUBLIC EDUCATION - MARSHALL TUCK (D)
Both candidates on the ballot are DEMOCRATS. MARSHALL TUCK, however, is the "LEAST DANGEROUS" to Conservative Values.

On the positive, TUCK supports Charter Schools, is opposed to regulating Homeschooling, supports Christmas religious songs, opposes the Transgender Bathroom Bill, supports parents being notified before a student has an abortion,
and supports creating vocational training.

TUCK'S opponent is extremely LIBERAL Assemblyman TONY THURMOND, who holds opposite views on these issues. DO NOT VOTE for THURMOND!
COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DIST -Area 1DOM PHAM
DOM PHAM - Republican candidate, endorsed by the OC GOP and conservative CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH.

NO OC COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTNO RECOMMENDATION - Information Only
NO RECOMMENDATION as both candidates are Democrats. However, if this office was on my ballot, I would probably vote for JEFFREY BROWN based on following info:

JEFFREY BROWN - Democrat Incumbent. Does not have any endorsements. He states, "I am not any group’s 'special interest' candidate". BROWN is an engineer, which I believe adds to better objectivity for this office, not in academia.

PAO LONG GUO - Minimal information on Democratic challenger, but he states he is a Public School Principal.
RANCHO SANTIAGO COMM COLLEGE (See Below)
AREA 4 - NO RECOMMENDATION

AREA 6 - PHILLIP YARBROUGH
SO OC COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT-Area 2 THOMAS PRENDERGAST
AREA 2 - Minimal information available, but I give the nod to THOMAS "TJ" PRENDERGAST. He is the Republican incumbent, and has received the endorsement of conservative, CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH, who does not ENDORSE unless he knows the candidate's political philosophy.

ANAHEIM UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT (See Below)
AREA 1 - LINDA LOBATOS - A Democrat, but a Conservative one, who supports many of the conservative issues, like growing Charter Schools. Endorsed by the Conservative Family Action PAC, who only support Pro-Life candidates.

AREA 2 - HARALD MARTIN-Republican Incumbent. Supports parental rights. Not union supported.

AREA 5 - VERNON BECKETT
FULLERTON JT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT(See Below)
DIST AREA 1 - NO RECOMMENDATION

DIST AREA 5 - MARILYN BUCHI
HUNTINGTON BEACH UNION HS SCHOOL DISTDUANE DISHNO and SAUL EDWARD LANKSTER (No 3rd Recommendation)

DUANE DISHNO - Republican Incumbent
BREA OLINDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DIST - Short Term - JO ACEVES
Comments: With information available, JO ACEVES appears to be the best of the field of 4 candidates for this office. ACEVES is one of 2 Republicans running, and has the endorsements of Republican CA Assemblyman, PHILLIP CHEN, and former Assemblywoman YOUNG KIM.

Do NOT vote for union-supported KERI KROPKE

CAPISTRANO UNIF SCHOOL DIST - NO ELECTION, Due to NO OPPOSITION
MARTHA MCNICHOLAS (Dist 4), GILA JONES (Dist 6) and JUDY BULLOCKUS (Dist 7), the 3 incumbents, win by default
GARDEN GROVE UNIF SCHOOL DISTRICT - Area 4BOB HARDEN
BOB HARDEN is endorsed by the Conservative CA REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY and the Conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC.
IRVINE UNIFIED SCHOOL DIST - Area 2 - NO RECOMMENDATION (but see comments below)
AREA 2 - NOT GOOD CHOICES HERE! If I were voting this area, I would vote for (D) SHARON WALLIN, which would be a Vote AGAINST Teacher UNION candidate, incumbent JEAN ANNE TURNER.

A non-union backed candidate is usually more independent and less beholding to the union's demands.
LAGUNA BEACH UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - HOWARD HILLS (Write-In Candidate)
HOWARD HILLS is an "official" Write-In Candidate for LBUSD. He is a solid Christian Conservative Republican, fiscally and socially. While there are 3 seats open, it is suggested that you VOTE ONLY FOR HOWARD HILLS to enhance his chance of winning (known as "bullet voting"). All other candidates are liberal.

IMPORTANT: To vote for HILLS, you must WRITE "HOWARD HILLS" on the line, and FILL IN THE BOX, next to his name. (Note: Last name is "HILLS", not "HILL")

NOTE: My LB conservative source informed me, if one feels "COMPELLED" to vote for another candidate, DEE NAMBA PERRY (a Declined-to-State candidate) would be a better option over the other 4 Democratic liberal. However, she is an incumbent and would probably win, even if you JUST VOTED FOR HOWARD HILLS.
LOS ALAMITOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - JEFF BARKE and DIANA HILL
JEFF BARKE - I am delighted to recommend solid Conservative JEFF BARKE. He is an incumbent that needs to be re-elected. Endorsed by the Conservative CA REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY, OC GOP, and the Conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC.

AREA 4 - JOE FERRENTINO
(NOTE, per www.RobynNordell.com: Do NOT vote for liberal incumbent, (D) KATHY MOFFAT. She voted for new radical sex education curriculum and is endorsed by DEM party)

AREA 5 - TIM SURRIDGE-Outstanding Conservative Republican Incumbent that deserves to be re-elected. He supports Charter Schools, and opposes COMMON CORE (me, too!), and "the sex education curriculum pushed by Sacramento" per his candidate statement. He is endorsed by the Conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC, who only endorse pro-life candidates.

AREA 7 - RICK LEDESMA - Like TIM SURRIDGE, LEDESMA is a solid Conservative Republican Incumbent, supporting the expansion of Charter Schools, and opposes COMMON CORE and the liberal sex-ed curriculum.
SADDLEBACK VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - GREG KUNATH (ONLY Recommendation) or *
GREG KUNATH - Though 2 seats open, I recommend voting for ONLY KUNATH to assure he wins (this is called "bullet-voting"). KUNATH a Conservative Republican candidate for School Board. He is a teacher, but has had 30 yrs as a businessman, too. He opposes the Obama-Supported COMMON CORE, opposes the current sex education curriculum that is being pushed by Sacramento Education leaders, and supports the expansion of Charter Schools. KUNATH is endorsed by the conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC, the conservative CA Republican Assembly (local SRA), and is Pro-Life. He is NOT teacher union support (a good thing!)

*If you feel you must vote for a 2nd slot candidate, DENNIS WALSH (no relation to Dan Walsh) would be the better choice. DENNIS WALSH is the Democrat incumbent candidate, who the TEACHERS UNIONS chose not to endorse/support this time. He may be more of an independent decision-maker, ie, NOT beholding to the Unions.

NOTE ONLY: Do NOT vote for the 2 UNION-BACKED Candidates, BARBARA SCHULMAN and DAN WALSH.
SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - ANGIE CANO and ARTURO PEDROZA
ANGIE CANO - a Republican who helped write the argument to OPPOSE the Santa Ana's School Bond on the ballot. I also oppose it. She has good qualifications to serve on the board. Endorsed by OC GOP.

ARTURO PEDROZA- the better of those remaining. Minimal information available, so not a strong recommendation.
TUSTIN UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - Area 5 - JONATHAN ABELOVE
JONATHAN ABELOVE appears to be the best of the 2 on the ballot, and comes w/a weak recommendation, as my research has not gleaned his political philosophy. He is the Republican incumbent, however, serving in this office since 1994. (Yikes, that a long time! Maybe, too long!)

However, ABELOVE'S only opponent, ELIAS TEFERI, is virtual unknown, except for having run for the school board every 2 yrs. since 2012, always trailing last.
ANAHEIM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT (See Below)
AREA 2 - JEFF COLE - appears to be the better of the 2 candidates

AREA 4 - NO RECOMMENDATION, however, per Conservative Robyn Nordell of www.RobynNordell.com , "Based upon what I currently know, I personally would vote for MARK LOPEZ, as being preferable to his opponent, . . . Liberal Democrat Norma Campos Kurtz [who] . . .is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and the OC Democratic Party."

BUENA PARK SCHOOL DISTRICTNO RECOMMENDATION for Dist 1
No conservative candidate. Both candidates are Democrats. Joe Pak endorsed by OC Dem Party.

PAUL MORROW - Well-qualified Republican Incumbent.

TRUSTEE AREA 2 - BILL HINZ - Republican Incumbent who appears to be the better of the 2 candidates on the ballot. Supports charter school, a conservative issue.

TRUSTEE AREA 4 - KAREN SHAW - Republican candidate who appears to be the better of the 2 candidates. Supports the idea of Charter Schools for district.
OCEAN VIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT1. JOHN BRISCOE 2. GRACEY VAN DER MARK 3. JACK C. SOUDERS
JOHN BRISCOE - I have vetted and recommended John Briscoe for OVSD for many elections.

GRACEY VAN DER MARK - A Republican and solid Conservative candidate, supporting charter schools, and vouchers as options for parents/students. She has been endorsed by the Conservative Huntington Harbor Republican Assembly, the Republican Party of Orange Co, (OC GOP), and the Conservative FAMILY ACTION PAC. A great candidate with enthusiasm to serve.

JACK C. SOUDERS - Not strong endorsement. May be best 3rd vote of those available. Republican Incumbent.
WESTMINSTER SCHOOL DISTRICT (See Below)
AREA 2 - XAVIER NGUYEN - A solid conservative young man of 25 yrs, a teacher who is working on his doctorate. Endorsed by the Conservative CA REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY, too.

AREA 5 - NO RECOMMENDATION

Comments: All of these candidates for this office are Republicans.

ARLENE SCHAFER and MIKE SCHEAFER (not related, note different spelling) are incumbents.

DAVID SNYDER is new to this office, but is running to allow for better transparency and shed light on how funds are spent. A fresh set of eyes on finances is always good. Minimal information available on candidates beyond this.

COMMENTS: Both FREDERICK ADJARIAN, a Republican, and KATHRYN FRESHLEY, a Declined-to-State, are incumbents.

Not enough information available on the 4 candidates to make a recommendation.

Propositions:
PROP 1 BONDS (Loan) to FUND HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROJECTS - Strong No
GENERAL INFO on BONDS:
-BONDS are the result of BAD BUDGETING.
-A BOND say, "WE WANT IT NOW, and we'll pay back TOMORROW.
-A BOND is a loan to the State of CA, with a promise to Investors to REPAY the BOND from future TAXES that CA collects over a period of 30-40 yrs. Of course, INVESTORS don't lend $$$ for FREE. They Charge INTEREST. Therefore, over the repayment period, CA REPAYS ABOUT TWICE of WHAT IT BORROWS in Bonds.

PROP 1 is a plan borrow to pay for a large array of groups of people to help them with housing. If CA had the cash, and not have to borrow, it might be a nice idea, BUT WE DON'T! Bonds say, CA really CAN'T AFFORD IT, SO LET'S BORROW INSTEAD!

I BELIEVE VIRTUALLY ALL BONDS ARE WRONG! Just like you and me, CA should NOT borrow, but LEARN TO LIVE WITHIN THEIR MEANS, no matter how noble the purpose.

NOTE: Between 1993 and 2018, CA voters cast ballots on 39 bond issues, approving 31 of them. I'm sorry for my grand/great grandkids, who will have to pay these off these bonds!

NO MORE DEBT! A BIG FAT NO on PROP 1!

A "NO" is also endorsed by CA Senator JOHN MOORLACH, OC Taxpayers Assoc, CHRISTIAN CITIZENSHIP COUNCIL (Frank Kacer), Lincoln Club, CA Republican Party.

PROP 2 - $2 BILLION BOND (Loan) to FUND HOUSING PROGRAMS for MENTALLY ILL - No
PROP 2 – Like PROP 1, this is more “borrow now and pay later”. It authorizes CA to BORROW $2 BILLION, this time for housing for the mentally ill homeless.

PROP 2 is a little different in that it would have an “earmarked” Bond payment source. Background: In ’04, CA Voters passed PROP 6 which is a “tax on the rich". This tax benefits the MENTALLY ILL. PROP 2 would "re-purpose" a portion of that ’04 tax revenue to make payments on this PROP 2 Bond. Voter approval is needed because the 2004 tax increase did not cover “HOUSING” for the MENTALLY ILL. (Does this make sense?)

Many, even Conservatives like CA Senator JOHN MOORLOCH, who co-authored this bill, say those who are usually opposed to adding CA Bond debt, should view this differently, because it has a repayment source. I have vacillated with the thought too, as the homeless need is great! But, will $2 Billion even put a dent in the need? UNLIKELY! Would permanent homeless housing warrant taking TAX income away from other ways to help the homeless? Probably NOT! Should CA government really be in the permanent housing business? NOT! Does government ever do things efficiently? NEVER! Is PROP 2 making CA government bigger or smaller? BIGGER!

So, even though the purpose may seem noble, say NO to PROP 2!

PROP 3 - $8.8 BILLION BOND (Loan) for WATER PROJECTS - Strong No
GENERAL BOND INFO: PROP 3 is ANOTHER BOND, and I'm recommending a NO for the many of the same reason as PROP 1 and 2.

PROP 3 - This one Authorized CA to BORROW $8.877 BILLION for Water-Related Infrastructure and Environmental Projects, etc.

Put the word "WATER" in a BOND Prop, and voters pass them! So far, since 1996, we have passed 8 WATER-RELATED Bond measures, totaling $29 BILLION. THIS WOULD BE THE 9TH and the BIGGEST. Just 5 mos ago in June Primary, Voters passed PROP 68 ($4 Billion) for similar purposes.

What do we have to show for the $29 Billion? Nothing that will get us more water. Dams collect our water from rain/snow melt, and none of the $29 Billion has gone to build new dams, and neither does this PROP 3. Plus, CA is NOT taking care of the dams it has. Water re-capture systems are NOT BEING BUILT, w/half our river water flowing into the ocean.

Instead of solving the real WATER issues, CA politicians pass laws to RESTRICT us users. In 2020, we will be allowed 55 gal per person per day. Then, in 2030, it will drop to 50 gal.

Where has the prev $29 Billion gone? Most to parks and recreation area, hiking trails, wildlife, and environmental projects having nothing to do with solving the State’s water shortages.

Don't give our feckless liberal Sacramento Trifecta any more money, especially BOND money to squander. You are NOT against clean drinking water if you VOTE NO!
PROP 4 - $1.5 BILLION BOND (Loan) for CONSTRUCTION/EXPANSION of CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS
Strong No
GENERAL BOND INFO: PROP 4 is ANOTHER BOND! No on PROP 4 and NO on all BOND Debt.

PROP 4 - CA would BORROW $1.5 BILLION to then award grants to CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS for construction, expansion, renovation, and equipment projects.

Is it another noble purpose? Maybe. Is the need clearly defined and critical? NO. Can CA afford to REPAY $3 Billion w/Interest to pay off decades later? Absolutely NOT!

Per DAVID WOLFE of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association: "Bonds are not free money. That’s money that is NOT spent paying off unfunded pension liabilities or funding K-12 education."

Reminder: As of June 1, 2018, CA is in Loan/Bond debt of $74.2 Billion. NO MORE DEBT! CA is drowning in DEBT!

NO on PROP 4.

PROP 5 REMOVES TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS for OVER 55 Homeowners - Strong Yes
A RESOUNDING YES ON PROP 5.

PROP 5 would allow homeowners, age 55+, to sell their current home, purchase a replacement home (anywhere in CA), and transfer the property tax, from the home they sold, to the one they buy. Additionally, it would allow them to transfer this base-year property tax MORE THAN ONCE, whether more or less is spent on the new home.

VOTE YES on PROP 5!

PROP 6 REPEALS 2017 GAS TAX and CAR REGISTRATION INCREASE - Strong Yes
A BIG FAT YES! VOTE "YES" to REPEAL!

PROP 6 REPEALS the GAS TAX and CAR REGISTRATION INCREASE that took effect in 2017. The law raised our state gas tax by 12 cents per gallon, and the diesel fuel tax by 20 cents. It also increased your annual vehicle fee ranging from $25 to $175 for cars, depending on car's value.

If PROP 6 PASSED, it would RESTORE our gas tax and car registration to where they were BEFORE THIS INCREASE.

PLUS, and JUST AS GREAT, PROP 6 AMENDS the CA Constitution to REQUIRE VOTER APPROVAL of FUTURE increases in fuel and vehicle taxes/fees. A great CONTROL on our liberal TAX & SPEND majority.

The purpose for the legislative increase was to fix our roads/highways, but we already pay for that. Per Senator JOHN MOORLACH, "Regretfully, CALTRANS is a MISMANAGED DEPARTMENT . . . . CALTRANS needs to be restructured, not your budget."

Lots of union $$$ is pouring in for "NO Repeal" side. Don't believe ads. VOTE YES on PROP 6 to REPEAL GAS TAX.

PROP 7 DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME - No...or Yes.
PROP 7 authorizes the legislature to provide for PERMANENT daylight saving time, IF the Federal Government allows it.

PROP 7 is more about YOUR OPINION on whether you would like PERMANENT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME or NOT! I think no, but vote yes, if you don't agree.

I am suspicious of this PROP 7, because it hands the legislature some authority. But I researched it, and probably have found my suspicions to be unfounded. There appears to be nothing hidden.

PROP 8 REGULATES OUTPATIENT KIDNEY DIALYSIS CHARGES - No
PROP 8 Requires dialysis clinics to issue refunds for revenue above a certain amount.

Per Christian Citizenship Council, PROP 8 "artificially caps profits [of FOR-PROFIT clinics, which treats 70% of patients] while only accounting for 69% of clinic costs. . . "

PROP 8 is funded by UNITED HEALTHCARE WORKERS Union as part of an attempt to pressure dialysis clinics to UNIONIZE workers.

PROP 8 Interferes with Medical Care in our State. It
would drastically reduce the needed care for dialysis patients, as dialysis would undoubtedly cause clinic closures, putting an additional burden on Hospital ER's.

NO on Prop 8 is endorsed by Conservative CA Republican Assembly, CA GOP, CA Taxpayer, CA Chamber of Congress.

PROP 9 - (REMOVED FROM BALLOT BY COURT ORDER) - No Recommendation
PROP 9 was the Initiative that would have divided CA into 3 different States, and supported by billionaire TIMOTHY DRAPER. The CA Supreme Count ruled it UNCONSTITUTIONAL and to be removed from the ballot.

PROP 10 RENT CONTROL - Strong No
PROP 10 would REPEAL a reasonable CA law passed in 1995, that protects property owners from new rent-control laws and helped control radical rent controls shifts. It also helped CA cities to secure new rental construction.

The REPEAL of the '95 Costa-Hawkins Rental Act would NOT be good, as it would allow cities to impose RENT CONTROL LAWS, which in turn would discourage rental investment and new rental construction, and MAKING AN ALREADY TIGHT RENTAL MARKET EVEN WORSE.

VOTE NO on PROP 10 also because it also means more Government interference in Business/Investment, virtually NEVER a good thing!

Per the HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYER ASSOC:
"PROP 10 is the wrong answer to the high price of housing. What's needed is MORE CONSTRUCTION, NOT LESS!"

PROP 11 REQUIRES AMBULANCE EMPLOYEES to be On-Call During Breaks - Yes
PROP 11 would ALLOW ambulance providers to REQUIRE workers to remain on-call during meal and rest breaks for emergency calls.
Seems almost like a silly PROP, but read next paragraph for reason.

BACKGROUND: In CA, about 25% of health 911 calls are handles by local Fire Depts. These 25% are already required to be on-call at all times for emergencies, even during breaks.

However, the remaining 75% are handled by private companies that contract w/cities. A recent CA Supreme Court decision called into question the need to be SPECIFIC, that PRIVATE COMPANIES would also follow the same protocol as the Fire Dept. Hence, PROP 11.

PROP 12 - ESTABLISHES NEW STANDARDS for CONFINEMENT of FARM ANIMALS - No
PROP 12 would ban the sale of meat from calves raised for veal, breeding pigs, and egg-laying hens confined in areas below a specific number of square feet.

PROP 12 is similar to the 2008 Prop 2 approved by voters which took effect in 2015. (Have you noticed the increase price in eggs the last couple of years?) Prop 2 set limits for pen/cage sizes, but those limits were based on animal behavior. PROP 12 would set NEW limits to replace the OLD Prop 2 limits.

I am recommending a NO on the NEW limits in PROP 12, which will just add to farmer's costs, that will be passed onto us consumers. And, could lead to shortages. (Even PETA and the Humane Society oppose this measure, but for other reasons.)

NO on PROP 12!
